नयाँदिल्ली । हेलिकप्टर दुर्घटनामा मृत्यु भएका भारतीय सेनाका चीफ अफ डिफेन्स स्टाफ जनरल बिपिन रावतको अन्तिम संस्कारमा नेपाली सेनाको पनि सहभागीता रहेको छ । रावतको शुक्रबार अन्तिम संस्कार गरिएको थियो

 अन्तिम संस्कारको लागि नेपाली सेनाले समेत तीन स्टार जनरललाई सहभागिताको लागि पठाएको थियो । नेपालबाट तीन स्टार जनरल बालकृष्ण कार्की जनरल रावतको अन्तिम संस्कारका लागि दिल्ली गएका थिए । जनरल कार्कीले जनरल रावतको अन्तिम संस्कारको लागि पशुपतिनाथको चन्दन साथमा लिएर दिल्ली गएका थिए ।

जनरल बिपिन रावतलाई नेपाली सेनाको मानार्थ महारथीको उपाधि दिइएकोले उनलाई नेपाली सेनाले यति उच्च सम्मान दिएको हो । नेपाल र भारतबीच एक अर्काका सेनापतिलाई मानार्थ महारथीको उपाधि दिने प्रचलन रहँदै आएको छ । जनरल रावत पहिले भारतको स्थल सेना प्रमुख रहेका बेला राष्ट्रपति विद्यादेवी भण्डारीले उनलाई २०७३ चैत १६ मा नेपाली सेनाको मानार्थ महारथीको उपाधि दिएकी थिइन् ।

जनरल बिपिन  रावत का परिवार उत्तराखंड मे रहकर कई पीढ़ियों से भारतीय सेना में अपनी सेवा दे रहा है। उनके पिता लक्ष्मण सिंह लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल के पद से रिटायर हुए। वहीं उनकी मां उत्तराखंड के उत्तरकाशी की रहने वाली हैं, जो पूर्व विधायक किशन सिंह परमार की बेटी भी हैं। जनरल रावत की दो बेटियां हैं। एक बेटी का नाम कृतिका रावत जबकि दूसरी बेटी के नाम तनु रावत है।

जनरल बिपिन रावत ने देहरादून और शिमला में पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद एनडीए और आईएमए देहरादून से सेना में एंट्री ली थी। वे 1978 में सेना में शामिल हुए थे। उन्होंने मेरठ यूनिवर्सिटी से मिलिट्री-मीडिया स्ट्रैटेजिक स्टडीज में पीएचडी भी की थी।

जनरल बिपिन रावत ने 17 दिसंबर 2016 को जनरल दलबीर सिंह सुहाग के बाद 27वें सेनाध्यक्ष के रूप में भारतीय सेना की कमान संभाली थी। 1 जनवरी 2020 को देश में पहली बार CDS सीडीएस की नियुक्ति हुई थी और जनरल बिपिन रावत देश के पहले सीडीएस नियुक्त किए गए।

जनरल विपिन रावत और मध्यप्रदेश के दामाद का आज एक दुर्घटना में असामयिक दुखद निधन हो गया । उनकी पत्नी मधुलिका रावत भी उनके साथ थी। पति के साथ उनका भी स्वर्गवास हो गया। आपको बताते चलें कि विपिन रावत मध्यप्रदेश के दामाद थे। उनकी ससुराल मध्यप्रदेश के शहडोल जिले की है। स्वर्गीय मधुलिका सिंह (रावत) शहडोल जिले के गढ़ी सोहागपुर के राजा मृगेंद्र सिंह की इकलौती पुत्री थीं। दो भाइयों में अकेली बहन मधुलिका घर की चहेती थीं। उनके विवाह की रस्म दिल्ली में सम्प्पन हुई थीं। उनकी दो बेटियां हैं, बड़ी बेटी कृतिका जिसकी शादी हो चुकी है, जबकि छोटी बेटी तनु जो हादसे के वक़्त घर पर अकेली थी। हादसे की खबर मिलते ही शहडोल जिले में भी शोक की लहर दौड़ गयी। मधुलिका रावत के छोटे भाई यशवर्धन सिंह वहां के लिए रवाना हो गए हैं।  

आपको बताते चलें कि जनरल बिपिन रावत की पत्नी मधुलिका रावत आर्मी वाइव्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन की अध्यक्ष थीं और शहीदों के आश्रितों की भलाई के अभियान में सक्रिय रहती थीं।आर्मी वाइव्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन भारत के सबसे बड़े स्वैच्छिक संगठनों में से एक है, जो स्थापना के समय से ही आर्मी जवानों की पत्नी, सेना के कर्मियों के आश्रितों के सामाजिक सशक्तिकरण और कौशल निर्माण में लगा है। वे यहां सिलाई, बुनाई भी सिखाती थीं। 

पारिवारिक सूत्रों से हासिल जानकारी के मुताबिक मधुलिका को सिलाई, बुनाई का काफी शौक था। वे खाली समय में सिलाई करती थीं। इतना ही नहीं इसके लिए उन्हें राष्ट्रपति अवार्ड भी मिल चुका है। इसके अलावा भूटान में उनके नाम का डाक टिकट भी जारी जो चुका है।

Bipin Rawat Early Life :

Bipin Rawat was born in Pauri, Uttarakhand. He took birth in a Hindu Garhwali Rajput Family, which had been serving in the Indian Army since multiple generations. His father Laxman Singh Rawat had rose to the rank of Lieutenant General, while serving in Indian Army. His mother was the daughter of Kishan Singh Parmar, ex-MLA from Uttarkashi.

Bipin Rawat Education :

Bipin Rawat completed his schooling from Cambrian Hill School, Dehradun and St. Edward’s School, Shimla. He then joined the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, where he was also conferred with ‘Sword of Honour’.

Rawat has also received education from Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and completed the Higher Command Course at the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

He has an MPhil degree in Defence Studies as well as diplomas in Management and Computer Studies from University of Madras.

He was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy by Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut for his research on military-media strategic studies.

Bipin Rawat Military Career :

Rawat was admitted into the 5th battalion of 11 Gorkha Rifles on 16 December 1978, the same unit his father was a part of. As a major, He commanded a company in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir. As a Colonel, he commanded the 5th battalion 11 Gorkha Rifles, in the Eastern sector along the Line of Actual Control at Kibithu. As a Brigadier, he commanded 5 Sector of Rashtriya Rifles in Sopore. He then commanded a multinational Brigade in a Chapter VII mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) where he was twice awarded the Force Commander’s Commendation.

After promotion to Major General, Rawat took over as the General Officer Commanding 19th Infantry Division (Uri). As a Lieutenant General, he commanded III Corps, headquartered in Dimapur before taking over the Southern Army in Pune.

He also held staff assignments which included an instructional tenure at the Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), General Staff Officer Grade 2 at the Military Operations Directorate, logistics staff officer of a Re-organised Army Plains Infantry Division (RAPID) in central India, Colonel Military Secretary and Deputy Military Secretary in the Military Secretary’s Branch and Senior Instructor in the Junior Command Wing. He also served as the Major General General Staff (MGGS) of the Eastern Command.

After being promoted to the Army Commander grade, Rawat assumed the post of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Southern Command on 1 January 2016. After a short stint, he assumed the post of Vice Chief of Army Staff on 1 September 2016.

Bipin Rawat Chief of Army Staff :

On 17 December 2016, the Government of India appointed him as the 27th Chief of the Army Staff, superseding two more senior Lieutenant Generals, Praveen Bakshi and P. M. Hariz. He took office of Chief of Army Staff as the 27th COAS on 31 December 2016, after retirement of General Dalbir Singh Suhag.

He is the third officer from the Gorkha Brigade to become the Chief of the Army Staff, after Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and General Dalbir Singh Suhag. 

Bipin Rawat CDS :

On December 31, 2019 General Bipin Rawat took the office of Chief of Defence Staff and became the first ever CDS of India.

Bipin Rawat Honours :

On his visit to the United States in 2019, General Rawat was inducted to the United States Army Command and General Staff College International Hall of Fame.  He is also the honorary General of Nepalese Army. Rawat has also been conferred  Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal and the COAS Commendation on two occasions and the Army Commander’s Commendation.

On behalf of the people from Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars, today I paid my deepest respects to CDS Gen Bipin Rawat ji and Mrs Madhulika Rawat Ji in Delhi. 

Gen Rawat was a soldier's soldier. An officer inducted into 5/11 Gorkha Rifles, he lived by the ethos of 'Nation First, and Always.' 

He dedicated his life to our nation and served it to his dying breath.

He is a role model for all of us, especially the youths who are inspired by his zeal, patriotism and dedication to our nation. We will forever remain grateful for his service and the sacrifice he has made for our country. His work and sacrifices will be remembered by generations to come.
