 मेघना बल्लभ जोशी: पहाड़ों की बेटी, विश्व की प्रतिष्ठित 6 स्टार मैराथन विजेता

मेघना बल्लभ जोशी अब उत्तराखंड की दूसरी ऐसी शख्सियत बन गई हैं जिन्होंने विश्व की प्रतिष्ठित Abbott World Marathon Majors की 6 स्टार यात्रा पूरी की है। उन्होंने यह उपलब्धि 21 अप्रैल 2025 को अमेरिका के बोस्टन मैराथन में हासिल की — और वह भी अपने अब तक के सर्वश्रेष्ठ समय के साथ। पहाड़ी रास्तों के लिए प्रसिद्ध बोस्टन का ट्रैक एक बार फिर इस बात का प्रमाण बन गया कि असली पहाड़ी वही है जो चढ़ाई में भी मुस्कुराए।

मेघना की 6 स्टार यात्रा की शुरुआत 2022 में शिकागो मैराथन से हुई। इसके बाद उन्होंने 2023 में लंदन, बर्लिन और न्यू यॉर्क मैराथन पूरी की। 2025 में उन्होंने टोक्यो और फिर बोस्टन मैराथन पूरी कर यह गौरव हासिल किया। लेकिन उनका सफर यहीं नहीं रुकेगा — अब उनकी नजर सिडनी मैराथन पर है, जो इस साल उनका सातवां वर्ल्ड मेजर मैराथन होगा।

मेघना पहले से ही कई उपलब्धियों की स्वामिनी हैं। उन्हें 2024 में NRI अचीवर्स अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया गया, 2023 में उन्होंने अफ्रीका की सबसे ऊँची चोटी माउंट किलिमंजारो फतह की, और 2016 में ‘मिसेज इंडिया’ का खिताब अपने नाम किया।

देहरादून में जन्मी और पली-बढ़ी मेघना ने सेंट थॉमस कॉलेज और डीएवी कॉलेज से पढ़ाई की है। आज वे अमेरिका में अपने पति और दो बच्चों के साथ रहती हैं, लेकिन दिल आज भी अपने पहाड़ों में ही बसता है। हर चुनौती को गले लगाकर उन्होंने यह साबित किया है कि एक पहाड़ी जहाँ भी जाए, अपने हौसलों की ऊंचाई साथ लेकर चलता है।

Meghna Ballabh Joshi has become the second person from Uttarakhand to complete the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors 6-Star journey. She achieved this milestone on April 21st, 2025, at the Boston Marathon — not only finishing strong, but also setting a personal best. Known for its unforgiving hills, Boston was yet another testament to Meghna’s mountain spirit. True to her Pahadi roots, she thrives where the climbs are toughest.

Her 6-star marathon journey began in 2022 with the Chicago Marathon. In 2023, she conquered the courses in London, Berlin, and New York. She followed these with the Tokyo Marathon and, finally, Boston in 2025. And she’s not stopping — Meghna now has her eyes set on Sydney as her 7th World Major.

No stranger to the spotlight, Meghna has a string of accolades to her name. She was awarded the NRI Achievers Award in 2024, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2023, and earned the title of Mrs. India in 2016.

Born and raised in Dehradun, she is an alumna of St. Thomas’ College and DAV College. Meghna now lives in the U.S. with her husband and two children, continuing to chase challenges and inspire others across continents.
